Got an update from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration about the proposed regional transportation solution – Visualize2045. This is a massive undertaking that will affect all of us, residents and businesses, over the next several years.
Ellen Letourneau, co-author of the highly acclaimed cookbook “Bread & Beauty, A Year in the Montgomery County Ag Reserve” presented an overview of the Ag Reserve, its’ importance to the Upcounty community, which are both featured throughout the cookbook.

Great turnout for our 2nd Annual Multi-Chamber Biz Carr Exchange. Thank you to everyone who came out and all of our local area chambers for participating. Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce, Rockville Chamber of Commerce, Poolesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Montgomery County – HCCMC, Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce, Olney Chamber of Commerce. Already looking forward to next year’s gathering.

Small Business Navigator, Judy Stephenson, also spoke about a new Montgomery County pilot program called “Business Assist.”
April 4: After Hours Networking & Estate Planning Workshop
Old Line Bank hosted a presentation on estate planning. Speaker Britt L. Stouffer, a Maryland attorney experienced in Estates, Trusts, and Elder Law. With over 10 years of experience in Estates and Trusts, provided real-life examples and consequences of poor estate planning. The event was held at the Old Line Bank branch in Clarksburg.
April 20: Military First Responders Day & Vet Squad TV
Neighborhood Veterinary Associates held a special event for Military & First Responders and was filming their reality TV show Vet Squad at their Clarksburg location.
April 24: Three-Year Anniversary Ribbon Cutting

The Shops at Damascus Electric celebrated their third year anniversary with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

February 6: Monthly Breakfast Meeting
Our meeting opened with a brief presentation from the Freedom Center which recently opened in Gaithersburg. Freedom Center is an intensive outpatient program that treats individuals with various addiction types with a focus on opioid addiction.
Representatives from the United State Census Bureau provided background and insights into the Census Bureau and the upcoming 2020 census. The process is about collecting data for many sectors of our society, important information for economic development, business decisions, and strategic planning.
